Why Time

 

Where time’s concerned

I stop to wonder why

Why we went forward

Or was it backward we were sent

Whatever sent was meant

Just one hour was the extent

Morning daylight the intent

With evenings nightness

Now an hour earlier event

All this happened

Without my consent

But my opinion in these

Meaningful matters

Doesn’t make a dent

And not even worth

A single red cent

I like the simplicity of this poem.I love the lines "I stop to wonder why/why we went forward/or was it backward we were sent", because every time this happens I find myself trying to answer this question.

I'm wondering how we ever got by before daylight savings time. Just kidding, of course. As I recall, we did just fine. Yawnnnn... is it time to get up or time for bed? I may be confused.
