A Wholesome Breakfast

A Wholesome Breakfast

A Poem by john l smith
"

treating the body right

"

The right side of the sun is where I like the most

So hot there I can fry my french toast

And breakfast is the most important meal of the day

Without it, I couldn’t join in the fray

A good breakfast is comprised of fruitcakes

And cheerios or porridge or panfries and steaks

Or ketchup and berry jam on stacks of French toast

Or a bowl of whip cream and icing sugar on roast

Then for desert, chocolate is like a fabled romance

Jelly rolls and cinnamon buns make my tongue dance

Butterhorns, brownies, lotsa cookies and more

A delicious diet that I’ll consume every chance

I am now thoroughly ready to face up to my day

But first must stop off at the corner cafe

There I will sit for a taste of fresh toffee

That must be washed down with pots of hot coffee

Whatever takes your fancy. Mine is porridge with summer berries. I am also partial now and again to a bacon butties. But as you say, it's the most important meal of the day. Gets the metabolism going. A tasty poem, which reminds me Dave it is time for lunch.
