Spilt Soup

Spilt Soup

A Poem by john l smith

reaction time

Nervous Pervis who usually each day

Would serve us at the local café

I’d like to say, even if a repeat

Was gladly quick on his feet

For when serving soup

With a clumsy oop

Was quick to allay

The upsetting returns

Of any woops concerns

When he put into action

His lightning quick reaction

To cancel said soup from going astray

And assure for that soup meal I’d still pay

not worth crying over spilt soup unless, perhaps, of what it may spill onto
