A Special Christmas

I am sure there are many children who wish that their parent could be home for the holiday, yet are stuck overseas fighting a war. ( a guaranteed tear jerker)

A Special Christmas

Tis the season

that magical time

of year

when all of the

sudden

“He”

soon appears

to spread glad tidings

of

Holiday Cheer!

With a Jolly

Ho, Ho, Ho

he places with joy

wonderful presents

under the tree

for the good boys & girls

all to see

Sally wants slippers,

Joey seeks trains

Little Johnny's needs

are a little bit strange

his wants are hard

for even “him” to do?

See all Johnny wants

is to have his dad

to make him glad

Yet Johnny's dad

is far away

fighting an enemy

that's evil & bad!

But lo and behold

Johnny will get

his Christmas wish

making this

the best holiday year!

For Santa has heard, and

read all his letters

So with a quick reply

he sent his personal sleigh

bringing this precious gift

to Johnny's delight

as Christmas morning came

Johnny woke up

to a sight

of his dad standing there

he'd been there all night!

So long it had been

yet he was amazed

his little boy

was now a young man!

Had the war gone on

so long for that to be

much has passed

that he didn't get to see

Yet that didn't matter

to Johnny one bit

for Santa came through

bringing his gift

quick

And Johnny hugged him

real tight

As Johnny held him

he whispered

“ I Love you, Dad”

then he

smiled as he heard

“HO, HO, HO!”

as

Santa's sleigh took off!
