The Cabin

The Cabin

Just an unmetered no rhyme piece of free verse poetry

"
Relaxing alone in my log cabin.
Listening to the rain on my tin roof.
Such a calming and mesmerizing sound
which moves me into this wonderful dreamland.

Soon, I am in a very familiar place that I know
and I really like it here, nothing but serenity.
No evil, only the greatest thoughts and desires.
I have hidden this place from everyone to protect
myself, my vulnerable and pain filled heart.

Then, in my slumber and absolutely great dream
a knock sounded at my door. Who could this be?
I've had this cabin for the last twenty five years
and never has a soul or heart ever been in here!

Opening the door, there stood Blue Eyes, my soulmate!
"Hi Jimmy, you look surprised to see me. Why??
"Blues, I have never let anyone know about this cabin,
it is my private personal space to dream about YOU!"

"Well, I'm here, what are we going to do? Happy things!"
"I have movies, music, a fireplace and a sofa to snuggle on.
A kitchen to do some snacks and importantly a shower!"
"Jimmy, this is an exciting place for us to be alone!!"

I took her bag and put it in my spare bedroom.
Blues puts on our favorite song, "Moon River," she's swaying.
I come up from behind, taking her in my arms to sway with her!
Our feelings are now becoming noticeably intense between us!

She turns around in my arms, kisses me lightly at first.
OMG, I want her! But fearful of ruining this relationship
of being friends first with truth, honesty and a simple love.
She is taking care of my vulnerable and sadly damaged heart!

"Jimmy?"
"Yes Blues! What can I do for you?"
"Hold me tightly, kiss me passionately and take me!"
"I want you so very badly, as you obviously can feel!
Is this what you truly want us to do?"
"Oh Jimmy, I need you badly, but let's shower first!!!"

OMG, that wry smile says I am in for the ride of my life, ever!

Blues and I are long distant friends and SOULMATES! This is a dream that I had. I don't think the painkillers had anything to go with this dream. Thank you for reading!
