Recovery

Recovery

A Poem by Story Teller Tales and Poems
"

To inspire recovery from the funk of a seemingly meaningless life

"

Take away what gives you pause

Beyond the scope of an empty dream

Negate the means of a worthy cause

The empty glare of eyes that once gleamed

O do you know just what you are?

The answer lost in a distant day

Did you travel once to realms afar?

To now just wallow in your dark dismay

How will you stand and face the light?

So used to sitting in an empty chair

Forsake malaise for the will to fight

Shake off your chains if only you dare

To take away what you had before

O now to jump right in the fray

To endless heights your passions soar

To walk in the shoes of those who’ve paid

You write with a ancient style. You question life and things with a gentle pen. I liked the entire poem. The ending was perfect. Deep thoughts and reflections in the words. Thank you dear Poet for sharing the amazing poetry.

'Did you travel once to realms afar? To now just wallow in your dark dismay.' I think your thoughtful poem will give hope to many who have 'The empty glare of eyes that once gleamed.' Nicely said.
