Gone

Gone

A Poem by Kalypso

I long for you...

mostly when the powdered moonlight

spills over me.

Open, a moonflower, to it's cool adoration,

I long for a moment passed

Stretched out, dreamy eyed

in a sweet pool of ivory satin,

my soul held afloat by your magnetic stare.

By your soft breath on my skin,

my body is made pliable

and I am shaped into a dream

that will evaporate with the morning dew.

 This fickle heart,

can I keep it from rising,

so I may bask in your luminous garden one more night?

Or will my apprehention ascend

with the warm rays of dawn?

If only I had weathered your morning sun-

would you be here now,

or still... gone?

Touching, elegant, poignant, sublime -- cardinal qualities that are so often evident in your work.

This poem is about Love seeking its full incarnation. The pain of most relationships is in their relentless fragmentariness. How many people does it take to composite a whole-souled being for one's heart, anyway?

This is so beautiful. One falls in love with you reading it.

You embody the exquisite quintessence of high anima for the discerning male. One longs along with you for this full incarnation of love-desire's finest flowering.

As a pleasant dream come to an end, your poem, deeply colored by emotion, gracefully descends upon surface of placid sentiment. Believable throughout, touching the thoughts and torment of misplaced, careless love.

Exquisite...

In the exquisite imagery which I've always noticed in most, if not all the poems I've read of yours, you express such graceful longing in this one, the moon and moonflower were a beautiful combination. Very nicely penned.

This illustrates the...longing and the questions that we all ask ourselves when we make a mistake we didn't realize we did. Your writing is eloquent and beautiul. Thank you for this poem.
From a heart broken fellow writer.
