"Where Did I End Up?"

 

I am running through this cold dark tunnel

These twists and turns blind me from what may be at the end

Is there a light?

Or is this tunnel eternal

When I am on that home stretch and that light becomes within my grasp

Who is holding that light so closely for me?

Who is guiding be back to the warm comfort of my home?

 

As I approach the end I realize that that light has

Burned

Out

Leaving me to the oh too familiar chill of that unwelcoming breeze

It connects with my skin sending pain and displeasure

I turn back around and run right back through that tunnel

 

Its walls absorb my cries for help

I am

Alone

On a journey that is taking me right back to where I started.

Success is not an option

Only remorse for beginning this travel to hell
