The Incognizant Souls

The Incognizant Souls

A Poem by Karthik Nedunchezhian
"

The poem at the start is about how our past generation warred and were they ended up. Followed by the wars that we are engaged in and their effects and were we would end up.

"
The old souls look down with dismay,
the souls that lived and died warring
For the religions they fought,
  have evolved or expired
For the beliefs they fought,
  have faded
For the kingdoms,
  have disappeared
For the treasures,
  couldn't be backpacked
For the kings,
  are forgotten
For the crowns,
  are auctioned
For the statues,
  are lost in the seas

The ruthless desert storm has resumed
and the five year old next door is happy
With mortars raining and roofs falling
the five year old next door is happy
Happy on her father's return,
who departed the deserts and flew down for life
But thousands of her age, with hundreds even of her name
are trafficked, shot and lost in the storm
With millions weeping,
  the ruthless storm has resumed!
With the scar of Exodus burning in the hearts
unquenched is the ego's thirst for heads
With terror outfits turning into Frankenstein's monsters
every single time against their own masters
Still remains unlearnt are the lessons of war
and still grows the list for crude, atolls, rivers and hills!

A day would come,
When our souls would look down with dismay
with the old souls rolling on the clouds laughing
For them its another generation of Incognisant souls
  joining them crying
Let's hope,
  that day never comes
Let's hope,
  this all ends with us
Let's hope,
  the lessons are learnt someday
Let's hope,
there won't be another generation of crying souls!
