Woods show your beauty

Woods show your beauty

A Poem by Kathy Van Kurin
"

A favorite place of mine where I find peace and solitude and sense of strength within a natural wooded beauty.

"

The woods shared her beauty today.
Each variant tree festooned in leafy garb.
The woods shared her grace today,
native creatures buzzing all round.

In strength the grove stands,
attending to language only its own.
Is there a clue of what life should be
 for you, for me?

Amidst tempest,
this  grove refuses to flee its station
but  yields
giving itself in the power of each gust.

Can we learn
 to bend amidst life storms,
open to lessons within our days?

Enclosing peaceful  solitude
Is the presence of  my Lord.
 at life's end
Heaven will be my perfect reward.

Phew! It brought peace in me.... :)
This reminds me of my village which I've hardly visited it past few years....that serene place always used to soothe my soul...now in this crowd I barely can think of goin' there again....
I loved reading the beauty of woods here....just simply captivating :)
Thanks for sharing :)

Kathy, this is a good poem. You write very well. The woods are always a great place to be, especially when the trees are talking to the wind. There is a little thing with the line 'but  yields giving itself in the power of each gust.' Something seems a bit off here. Perhaps 'but  yields itself to the power of each gust.' I like it. Good write.

There's something almost magical about the woods. You've accurately captured the feeling of being in the woods.

How beautiful this is... Since my childhood days woods is the place where I have found peace and strength for my life so I can relate to your poem very much... Nature is the truest form of God's peace zit is where we can witness the beauty of life... Your poem does bring peace in my mind and you have brought bright imageries here with your words... Great work Kathy... I loved how you have ended the poem with a spiritual message...

Your descriptions echos the stability of the woodland, when it is allowed to flourish in its natural state.
And yes , it can communicate this feeling of peace and tranquillity to we volatile humans.

Thanks Norman23
This place for me is a real stability factor within my own life................ read more
again you talk of sharing...of withstanding life's low
points and being strong...the trees, the woodland creatures...if only we could mirror them more than we do...

i found the third line a little awkward...like a word missing "attending to language of their own"?

you do put much feeling into your writing...and your writing reflects strong hope for peace, community and sharing.
