Impasse

Impasse

A Poem by SPINNING ON that dizzy edge
"

Should I stay or should I go

"
Deciding what to do is hard
it's not just from your head
Toss around the pros and cons
of all the things we said

My way is what's good for me
You have other plans
Pressure building all the time
That's just how it stands

I have things that cannot change
You have your piles too
Can sit and stew for hours now
on what we need to do

Love plays parts that cause us pain
Half empty is the glass
You won't budge and we create
a sorrowful impasse.

Expectations from those that we love tearing us apart because we cannot live up to these expectations and even going as far as to state that our expectations could quite possibly be what they regard with disappointment. To each their own, I say, and I must say that the impasse (I see where you've got the name now) and striving for a detente you portray are both so poignant and very well-written. Well done.

Been there before..I like that the poem is not predictable and it's perfect intersection of self reflection with outer expression makes the unknown a clear point..good piece

Thank you for your nice review... glad you liked
That is always a tough decision when you love someone but you are not sure if you are still right for one another, the question is can you accept each others differences without hurting one another.
