The pieces

The pieces

A Poem by Kay J.

I thought my heart had lost all of it's broken pieces
That's all it was, a thought
Then you came along and showed me that there were more pieces that I had lost
When they're all finally gone, I won't be anymore
I've wanted to be a wild one and come alive as the moon breaks in the sky
In reality, when nightfall comes along, I crawl and hide
No placebo can cover up the distance I've walked
A tiny pill won't let me hide from the truth
The horizon looks wide, but it's getting smaller as the day goes on
I'm stuck in this space, ready to run, but my feet are tied down by metals and chains
I've committed a heinous crime against myself
The rules and the laws, looking morals straight in it's face
I haven't loved to the fullest
My love is never true
I sit here waiting for someone to figure out my puzzle because I'm lost in it's clues
I won't point a finger at who could have stolen it all away
More than three people would disagree
Even I know it's me
