Seasonal Happiness

Seasonal Happiness

A Poem by that-little-green-monster
"

Does your mood ever change with the seasons?

"
Winter,
Gloomy,
Depressed,
I wish you wouldn't look at me.
Spring,
Sunny,
Happy,
Paying compliments,
Striking up lovely conversations.
Summer,
Angry,
Hateful,
The heat affecting my mind.
Fall,
Content,
Normal,
Not extremely happy,
But not sad,
Just right.
Does your mood change with the seasons?
Is it extreme?
Is your mood in sync with the seasons?
Does Summer bring you joy?
Does Spring make you flirty?
Or do you stay the same,
Throughout the year.

Your poem makes striking contrasts in describing the seasonal mood changes some people may feel. I think perhaps that as a person gets older the mood swings even out a little, except if the cause is physiological, such as being sensitive to reduced sunlight levels. When we realize that we can't change the seasons, climate or weather, then we just force ourselves to function the best we can throughout the year. I like the simplicity of statements in your poem, which ends in questions for the reader to ponder. Keep on writing!
