Displaced

Displaced

A Poem by spiritwind

I was displaced

I never saw it coming

There were no storm clouds on the horizon

No red skies in the morning in warning.

I never saw it coming

I was just suddenly displaced

I found myself in Mahanaim

A long long way from home.

I do not belong here, I cried

I was made for a different place

This place is not my place

This place is not my home.

I want to be back in yesterday

I want to be back home

They speak a different language here

And my soul is longing for its home.

Thank you TheJordBaker for the massively encouraging remark and the pun, inadvertant or not!!!
No solutions , But my grad mother traveled the world, She would take special things of hers ,set them out on the dresser, the look of them made her feel at home. I worked at a camp and in about 17 days the kids would turn homesick too.

Thank you, Lee. Yoiur Grandmother was [is] a wise lady! A true nest-er!!
Very moving and easy to relate to. I can say that I have felt this way when I was actually relocated to somewhere new and was longing for home, as well as when I stayed but it seemed the world around me changed. Great visuals.

You're very welcome
Your words ache in that desire to return... to come back to the familiar... How you were taken away against your will.. without warning... Such a powerful sadness here.

I was displaced.....so this poem really hit home.

It hurt to read it....but then that's part and parcel of poetry. It stimulates the emotions and this one certainly done its job.
