nightmare

I am lying in my bed tonight,

Before I knew it,

I shut my eyes,

All of a sudden,

A face pops up and I don’t know why,

It looks familiar,

Can it be that I once knew it well?

He looks at me with the biggest grin,

Then took my hand,

Right before I had a chance to kiss his lips,

He pushed me away,

And we both went our separate ways.

If only the dream didn’t turn into a nightmare,

I opened my eyes,

And didn't see you there,

I just looked in the mirror and saw my tears.

i woke up this morning and i made my feelings set free.

Oh how I know the feeling so very well, the kind of dream that makes you sit up in an instant of anxiety, and force a slow, smooth breath out to calm you down. Dreams can be so sweet, but when we wake they can sometimes leave us empty and depressed. You convey this simply but oh so well.
