The Ship in the sea

The Ship in the sea

A Poem by Kevin Andros
"

A journey, till the end of the world, won't seem hard if you have 'the one' with you at your side always.

"
The times have brought in the winds of change,
It's bringing in the pleasant breeze,
it will never be the same again,
When I finally get to the crease.

The sail has been set,
anchors are away,
the ship has sailed for tomorrow,
a land that has no sorrow.

I have sailed through some tough times,
rough seas and strange tides,
I have survived many a storm,
and I've never been brought down.

I now look at the starry skies,
and the peaceful waters,
for once, I eye the enigmatic horizon,
And feel my future brighten.

At this juncture, O my love,
I vow to keep you above all,
keep you always on dry land,
And I'll always be by your side.

There is nothing enigmatic about this poem and, as long as there is love, there will be love poems. It's a subject many can relate to. In the first stanza, I'm not sure what,"when I finally get to the crease." means.?
In the third stanza, I think "and I've never been brought down." sounds more correct. In the last stanza, I keep wanting to change the word order in the second line to "above all." It messed with my flow of reading a bit. All in all though, sweet words to make a sweet poem!
