A Poem by Khatoon Hazara

don't tell me no sire-
i've been waiting for an answer-
maybe this time it'll come,

i'll squeeze pass the wishing well-
skip through the rose fields-
in my robe of red,

lay down in my hopes-
until they're all dead-
coz I need no dictation,

i promise, head of house-
if you want me to settle down-
let me look around,

oh wait! i've been through that-
it's too soon to come running back-
so i won't, you know,

but maybe i'll give it a second chance-
i hope this won't be all in vain-
coz i'll give it my heart, and soul,
