where I find myself

where I find myself

A Poem by AKhaus

It is in the lonely hours where I find myself.
When the dark, riveting silence slices through me with cold pain.
I am revived in the absolute black and my soul begins to speak.
Echos in the shadows and the snow flakes collect outside this patio door.
My image is distorted but clearer here than anywhere else.
It is in the quietude of my eyes I find myself crying.
It is in the absence of suffering I find myself wanting to feel and wanting more.
When the thickness of the night swallows me into her belly, that is where I find myself.
I am more human there in that undefined freedom which lacks light and sound.
