whisper of the tender breeze

whisper of the tender breeze

A Poem by woodennymph

i write poems to express emotion or to somehow try do diffuse it so my writings usually involve feelings and human experiences and relationships and frustrations. this poem is one that i wrote to somewhat break from the trend and just write for the sake o

"

I strolled along the moonlit stretch of sand and sea,
Wishing I could be somebody else aside from me.
My mind raced with so much more than I can bear,
My heart was bursting, at any point it could just tear.

Slowly, a warm tear cascaded down my cheek.
I minded it not for comfort I dare not seek.
Soon more came and fell on the sandy shore,
Like the waves that crashed yet seemed to grow some more.

I felt the breeze of the midnight sky caress my face.
It seemed to come in a slow and steady pace.
A warmth engulfed my frail and battered soul.
And gently, my pain it quickly stole.

I stood amidst the steady sounds of sea
Waiting for something else to have me be
The tender breeze swept past my lonely heart,
And whispered that from me it ne'er shall part.

Beautiful, really. And even though you said to ignore the rhyming, I thought it added the perfect touch to this poem. I did feel it. I could close my eyes and taste the salty air. I really enjoyed this.
