REMEMBER NO MORE

REMEMBER NO MORE

A Poem by Bill Grimke-Drayton
"

This is a statement of turning away from a bleak past of regrets and an embracing of a vibrant present with all that it has to offer.

"

Remember no more the times,

forever gone,

with glory given for you

to be true

in what you have always been

beneath the cloak of secrecy and shame.

Your way was set at birth,

from the womb’s hiding place

to open access

for every facet of your inner core

to be fashioned in life’s crucible.

Remember not the times,

forever gone,

no more

to haunt you down dark alleyways

or twist the gleaming thread of gold

into a rope for guilt.

Your sun has risen through

the clouds of brightest heaven,

and thus you write the sacred words,

known only to you,

the silken path illumined,

set with dazzling light before your feet,

to dance the timeless hours away

in freedom's joy.
