The Heat

The Heat

A Poem by K.R.
"

Poem written by the voice of "Everywhere is Home" (found in my writings) in the summer of 2017

"
Blistering
Is the sun
wanting me to die?

Temptation
Was the thought
of water on my tongue.

Destruction
Reigns supreme
as smoke fills the sky.

Ashamed
Be the ones
for what they have done.

Black
In our hearts
and on the land.

Respect
Is what we give
and what we demand.

Mankind does so many unkind things to this Big Blue Marble we all inhabit. We strip mine her, heat up her atmosphere, pollute her skies and waters with toxins... and yet, unforgiving, she bestows her beauty on us everyday.
Nice piece...
