A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald

A plunging exercise to gain my legs again in the world of religion, demons and the human need to find those which need to be left alone!

Azul windows pierce through thickened veils,

The studied mind seeks thrills to fuel his desire,

What sound shall the youth bellow to the night’s sky?

Sharpened eyes drip crimson like wild fire.

Fearing the afreet a most pointless effort,

As he desires one thing during one’s apoptosis,

The hunt, that race to soothe the loins' quick,

Well after all the story reeks time in Genesis.

Cantillate you damn holy men from inside the spire,

Blood is the only key to help us now and forever,

Sins of the flesh - is there any other kind?

A single blow to the neck will lead to never.

A final caution to those of pure degraded peace,

There is no such thing and you’ll find but one,

Stories have a way of telling a single honest truth,

You lie through gasconade now I tell you are gone!

This is a really good piece. The anger comes through, loudly, boldly -- there are no other sins than those of the flesh, and without them there isn't much to life -- at least, that's how I read this -- defiance against religious conventions.
-- p.s. eye's does not need an apostrophe, and loin's may or may not, depending on how you meant it, but it would be loins'
also -- I think you were the victim of the dreaded writer's cafe' glitch that turns hyphens into quotes in my favourite line about sins of the flesh.
An excellent work here.

Are you ever in a kind and gentle mood? If I was your mom I would have spanked you more often growing up. Valentine
