The N****r Word.

The N****r Word.

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

A challenge to those that still think it appropriate to use this foul word of hate and oppression.

"

A blast of hatred of acid tongues,

A needless phrase to scold the tall,
A forgotten hero they never mention,
Take a look at the one called Robert Smalls.

A swipe by fist of foul means,
A dangerous concoction of sparks,
A cowards language of sorts,
Take a look at the one called Rosa Parks.

A definition of weakness in ruling,
A slap in the face of the now free,
A collapsed cult now gone forever,,
Take a look at the one called Isabella Baumfree.

A word is a word to fight and hurt,
A sentence pinned together from fools,
A paragraph of silence descends upon you,
The N word no longer a relevant tool.

I agree with you completely Thomas people's minds need to be changed, they look at one thing and characterize all black people which isn't fair. Your poem was amazing, and I liked how you said "Take a look at the one called..." This is my all-time favorite poem by you. The N word is no longer a reverent tool. OUTSTANDING!!

I agree with this poem completely! It reminds me of Martin Luther King Jr, since today was his assassination day. This is such a powerful poem definitely well done.

Oppression is everywhere, in every culture and government since the beginning of human's time on earth. Its an endless quest for power by any means necessary. Hate is another tool used which we can see if one cares to watch what passes for news these days. It is a sad state for sure. Everyone should be free but so few really are. There's just the illusion of freedom. Outstanding poem on this sad topic, very well written which makes it readable which only helps to get your message out in the public arena.

Oppression of any peoples is a travesty. The only people who can do anything about it, won't.

I. agree. And I disagree. Yes, these figures were very special, and they were very good people. But. After living around these people for so long, there are black people, and there are n*****s. There are whites, and there's white trash. That's the way it is. But there are many black people out there who aren't like that, and yes, we have to take in account that they're very decent people.

Maybe, but the word itself just grates on me like acid!
I can't agree more with this writing, it is excellent. However, I commonly see black people cal other black people n*****s, which I will never understand. It is very hateful, and should never try to be used as a compliment or a status. The word should be phased out of existence.
