Man.

Man.

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

A look at humanity.

"
The eagle has soared our highest sky's,
The whale dived our deepest waters,
The gorilla climbed our darkest caves,
Man the top of the food chain,
For all he has achieved,
For all he can do and provide,
He can do nothing - nothing,
When solitary in motion,
He will not soar like the eagle,
Dive like the whale or,
Climb like the gorilla,
Indeed dig like the mouse,
For he will die and die alone,
that I promise.

Your words are true. That is why I believe a man must try to do some good and leave love as his name so his spirit and life was not wasted. I like the examples in the poem. We will die alone. What matters is what we do between life and death. A excellent poem.

Unfortunately true, mankind knows only destruction. And under its own leadership mankind drifts helpless and silent to the tomb. A good poem.

I love that the poem is almost separated into two parts, the first being full of nature and the second being about man, and being very foreboding.

I had to think twice about that last line, but indeed, you are right. When you're at the top, busily destroying everything you stand on, you'll certainly die alone.

Human - the steward of Nature...think themselves as the superior-intellectual dweebs-But at the end...they are simply Nothing.

Naturally Beautiful poem...:)

this was a good read. Really sucks that our species isn't contributing all that much to the world.

it reminds me of native american poetry with how respectful it is to nature and man relation with the earth. If things continue the way they have mans future is dimmed

That's very nicely written, I like the prophetic, chant-esque style of it. And a good point, too. Great job.
