Marius!

Marius!

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

A fleeting prose to a fictional character that I have come to love.

"
A beautiful creature of magical light,
Snatched from his mother's hands,
Without warning or alarm or goodbye,
A son though man, my dark angel.

The protector of the ancient ones,
True, spirited and yearning for peace,
A lover of those powerful few,
A loving heart of a killer, my killer.

Never even, what dies was innocence,
Not human for decades, how peaceful,
A diet of blood for eternity,
A cemented block in timeless age.

My lover, my priest, my teacher,
A tormented soul of the soulless,
Laughing screams of children,
An immortal with mortal dreams.

Thomas Fitzgerald
A weak wording prose for a man, a fictional man who I have come to love and fear.

Your poem portrays a colorful story in succinct lines. A dark, tragic, character emerges from a sinister, unloving world, which frequently happens in real life. As usual, your words are lucid and potent, with stark imagery. The four short verses are manageable bites of cognitive material, giving the reader much to ponder.

This has vampire hues to it but to me this talks about molesters that are far from vampires. They are real demonic beings that walk this earth destroying the innocent and taking from the lives of everyone around them.

Ahhh, nothing like a great piece of gothic torment to get the day under way. It seems much bigger than what it is. Hints at an expansive inner drama yet to be revealed. Leaves me wondering and wanting to know more of the backstory and unfolding plot. Eloquently written!

You built it up to the end stanza. Next one, START with the end stanza and keep the power and emotional impact alive. You reached a good stepping off point!
