Watching You

Watching You

A Poem by .abigail.

Watching you.

Wanting you to watch me.

Wanting you to see me.

Not the others.

The ones that beg for your attention

While I sit quietly up the back.

And watch you.

I listen to you.

And laugh at your jokes.

But so do the others.

But the others don’t watch you.

Only me.

And it’s them that you notice.

It’s ironic. Frustrating.

Heartbreaking.

That the one person who watches you

Is the one you never see.

I try to stop watching you.

But I can’t.

I can’t stop watching you.

‘Cause watching someone

Means you love them.

And I love you.

Wow! That was amazing. I liked both the frustration and need you brought into the poem. It was short enough to keep my attention and easy to understand. Good job. This was perfection all on it's own, I adore this poem. Definite favourite! :D xxx

Hey. My real name isn't Abigail, but I prefer it, and I don't want my friends to read any of the stuff I've written, so I'm not putting my real name. I was born in 1994, I live in Australia. M.. more..
