The Love Of A Parent

A poem about what I believe is a parents love for their child and what they can go through.

                                                               The Love Of A Parent

A parent’s love is as true and as real as it gets  

Only then will you truly understand what it is to unconditionally love someone to bits

 

Someone you will always worry about

Someone who makes you cry or want to shout

 

Someone who will make you crazy and question yourself

Someone to catch drawing on the wall or climbing a bookshelf

 

Someone who will test your patience and your sanity

Someone who will constantly remind you of your humanity

 

Someone who will sometimes get bad grades or skip school

Someone to make you feel powerless and cruel

 

Someone who may try drugs for the first time

Someone who might even commit a crime

 

Someone who could do those things and still love them with all of you

Someone to love no matter what they put you through

 

Being a parent you will always have someone who loves you

Someone you helped dress and taught to tie a shoe

 

Someone who can put the biggest smile on your face 

Someone to smother with kisses and embrace

 

Someone who makes you feel important and will always need you

Someone to do fun things with and take care of when they are sick with the flue

 

Someone to make you a better a person and looked up to

Someone to buy new clothes for and give a new hairdo

 

Someone to be there for on their first day of school

Someone to take to their very first swimming pool

 

Someone to fall asleep in your arms or cuddle with you in bed

Someone who picks out the same book no matter how many times you have read

 

Someone who will completely change your life forever 

Someone you will be happy doing anything and whatever

 

Someone to make every event and holiday special for

Someone to go on adventures with and explore

 

Someone to tuck in and watch while they sleep

Someone who will make you things and draw you pictures that you will always keep

 

Someone who will make you proud and extremely happy

Someone to be lovey to and overly sappy

Someone who makes you realize being a parent is the best thing to ever happen to you

Someone you get to make all their dreams come true
