"A Kiss Of Delicate Persuasion"

A Poem by Kenny L. Mitchell

“A Kiss Of Delicate Persuasion”

Drink me with your gentle lips

Infuse me with dazzling starlight

And impeccable sublime gestures

Paint with me a vivid picture

Filled with longing beyond measure

Primitive in duty and satisfaction

Allow the dissonant chords

To fall from my melancholy heart

Play the subtle lullabies

That are synchronous with love

Against the pale moonlight

Dance with me as one

The perfection of beauty personified

As silent constellations watch above

Your scent calls to me

A bellowing, subliminal echo

Two aching souls longing

And desperate for one another

Upon the last sweet breath

I exhale on this mortal plane

I will whisper your name

To pull back the veil

Beyond the ethereal darkness

I would search eternity

(for you)

The gift of heaven defined

Is the one that epitomizes

The sweet delicate beauty

That is measured by your love

I was thinking of the phrase -A Rose is but a rose- but relative to this, A Kiss is NOT a kiss..
You have described in wonderful clarity the achingly, beautiful Soul-touched kiss. That is THE kiss. The entire tone and flow of this Kenny, is of the highest standards for love, longing, desire. My friend, if I don't see that book of yours in print soon...Well I may have to become your agent. You have Mad, Mad poetry skills. Another exquisite piece.
