Dumpster Girl

Dumpster Girl

A Poem by kayla
"

I wrote this poem a a little less than a year ago while I was going through a very hard time.

"

To them I am a dumpster;

they dump their garbage into me-

disgust me, ruin me,

mark me forever unclean.

Yet they get off free and weightless.

They promise to empty me,

to rescue me and create anew,

but not soon after saying so

they engrave their dirt within me,

let it simmer and stink like

the ugly within themselves,

the ugly now branded inside of me.

And I am always left behind,

rolled off to the alleyway

where not even the city rain

has the ability to wash me clean

or set me free.

Because I still stay filthy and overflowing,

crawled upon, pushed around;

disgusting as the man on top of me

dumping me with garbage,

filling me to the brim as the rain pours down:

gods wrath upon me for letting myself

become a dumpster.

I compromise my sanity, my morals, my life

as muddy rain mixes with a bloody dumpster,

overflowing with filth; mine, his, the worlds'...

Down the alleyway the rain carries the mud,

the blood, the filth, the disease.

But I know I am still a dumpster.

I will be filled up again.

sounds like a rough life. i hope this wasn't completely autobiographical. i've read several of your poems and stories. all are from a very dark perspective. i hope your life has improved substantially and there will be more light in your life and poetry in the future.

The poem is direct and honest. I like the description. Make the emotion feel real and alive. Great use of the language bringing a vision of abuse and being dumped on. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.

so sad.you put everything open and in detail.I could see the picture of that innocent girl on my eyes reflected from my brains.
The title is cool and i like how you ended it.
it's all nice.

Strong points; but I do feel you stretched it a bit too much. No offense intended, but you lose your mojo around the center of the poem: if you know what I mean. Nonetheless, fine concept and enjoyable read.

This poem is so emotional and strong. I puts a perfect example of people who have a rough life.
Great job!

Another very powerful poem! As women its easy for us to feel this way sometimes, emotions can run very strong and you captured that in your words!
Keep writing!
