A Poem by Daniela Leça

Gloomy and dark the day

The rope is getting thinner

One day I'll fail and fall

And won't get up again

It seems inevitable

I could fight one more day

But I list my faith

When I hold my breath

I feel fingertips touching my skin

And when I close my eyes

I see him right before me

Waiting for the right time

To take me back to my realm

So we can be together again

Trying to understand humans

And their ways of forging happiness

Their loud voices reminds me

Of drops of water

Falling on my forehead

I've build all to protect you

But now you can keep the thing going

Like you did in the past

I'm heading home

I close my eyes

He's waiting for me

I like the way this poem looks. Was that intentional?

Thank you! And yes it was. :)

I dig this.
We all need to see brightness in our future and dream of a time where love and contentment replaces the effort and pain we are going through now.
Your words paint a beautiful picture of hope and a faith bruised, but not completely lost.
Beautiful.
