What is Can Never Be

What is Can Never Be

A Poem by J. James Reider

Looking back through my ghostly eyes,

I think of love and all it's lies.

My wife at home with our love's seed,

I miss her so, it makes my heart bleed.

I long for the days when she held me tight,

now I fight back tears with all my might.

I was deployed; Uncle Sam is a liar,

my life ended, in friendly fire.
