Opposites

Opposites

A Poem by kjsa

The holy man says no sin

but when day turns to night

he passes the gin

never fearing god's might.

The teacher says the world is alright

but she forget to tell you about the drug war.

When you find out you start to fright

cause Daddy's gone to el Salvador.

The drunk says he is a sinner

and his heart is black as charcoal

forgetting that he dove for cover

while saving his friend in the foxhole

The scientist says there is no god

but silently hoping there just may

he announces that religion is a fraud

See him in the room on his knees ready to pray

Such power in your pen, you capture the folly of men so well. Thank you.
