the life behind

the life behind

A Story by carmz
"

actually it is a kind of review from what I've seen during our logic class

"
During our logic class one afternoon my professor surprises us with a documentation.
It was entitled  "the life behind" well, at first we didn't appreciate the story but as we go all along...........
I came to realized I'm one of those lucky child who grow up with my mom and dad.
Their are twelve (12) children, with different life-striving story. Nene, a seven-year old girl was one of them. She didn't have a chance to be with her mother, although she still live with her father, she didn't feel the love of a parent at all.She was tasked to collect trash that can be recycled everyday.Yet a child like her should go schooling, playing, and enjoying the childhood life she had...
Another child was named Kiko, he was six years old malnourished child. He need to beg for food just to fill his empty stomach every now and then. His parents abandoned him when he was still a baby. His grandmother adopted him but when his granny fade away no one had the courage to take care of him.He wandered in every street lead by his own feet....
like Nene he should be a child in his age but look at him he was tested by the so called Life..........

There are twelve of them yet i can only site two of them,
Do you wonder what makes them survive the life they have?

after the show ended i feel my tears rushing slowly from my eyes.........even though im not that kind of person who cry when ever he watch dramas on t.v or in movie..

Well, even they were still young they know that having faith in the Almighty brings a great help to them....

I wonder if how many are like Nene and Kiko out there...
longing for love.........
searching for a home .........
and striving just to survive the life they have

yet have strong faith and hope......

should we feel lucky compared to them?
should we pity them?
or it should be the other way around?

I understand the message behind this writing and it's definitely a very heartfelt and sometimes sad message to ponder. I think sometimes we see the way others live and we feel pity because we have so much more. We know what it's like to have education while some of these children are struggling with basic survival. We should all be thankful for what we have in our own lives and try to help out others who don't. Technically, I think you may have to do some editing. There were a lot of grammar errors that made the story a bit difficult to read. Read it out loud to yourself and it may help you.

This was a really deep and thought-provoking write. The topic that you discussed was something that I have a great deal of interest in, and I thought that you wrote about it in a really powerful and moving way. I liked your use of rhetorical questions, as it allowed me as the reader to pause and think about the questions asked. I do think that this will require some proof-reading, but I really liked the concept of this piece. Nice work,

How considerate and thoughtful of you. A sadly, existing piece of truth posted up there. Thanks for sharing.

I love the entire concept behind this story, but it was difficult to read because of the spelling mistakes. It was kind of hard to read, I recommend editing this. To answer you question, we SHOULD feel lucky and we SHOULD pity them. Sadly our society doesn't always have that mindset.

This is a good write. I do agree with the points below about luck and childhood. Good either way. The ending is different. It is more like a structured song at the end but it is effective. Well done.

I think everyone has their own idea about what 'lucky' means in this contest. It's arguable that someone who struggles and suffers has a better appreciation for life is; someone who does not, and has a good, loving, comfortable upbringing may be naive as a result and see the world through rose-tinted spectacles, unprepared for the disasters that may befall them, though seldom do. It is easy for the latter to feel pity and sympathy.
Oftentimes the sufferer is all the more stronger for that and can direct that suffering into something powerful and significant, like Art. However, everything is relative - and one man's suffering is another man's security..!

I had nothing as a child. I held no hate against the world. Made me hungry and able to built a good life. The poor children don't know the safety of four walls and three good meals a day. We live in a confuse world. We will spend 1.5 trillion in the USA on war and 64 billion on shelter and food for the poor. No profit in taking care of the poor. Poem is powerful. The logic in the poem is true. We need to help the needy and make this country insure every child and mother had a warm bed and food to eat.
