In the Moment

In the Moment

A Poem by ksbadyal
"

Lets take back time. I don't want to be pushed along by the hands of the clock.

"

There are moments when

We need to stop

The second hands

Of ticking clocks.

And live between

Our breaths of air.

Carve out a space,

And settle there.

Leave words unspoken

On silenced tongues.

Empty our minds

And fill up our lungs.

Take back time

From clocks again.

And remember we

Built those gears within.

Built our own walls,

An ivory tower.

Cornered ourselves

On a circle of hours.

A moment’s notice.

A moment passed.

Take a deep breath,

Make each one last.

This is a very interesting piece of writing you have here. Reminds me of Clocks by Coldplay in a way. Anyway, I commend your excellent use of rhymes and figurative language here. You truly capture the fleetingness of time. Well done. ~Never Forget

Very nice. The short lines give me the impression that time is running. I kept hurrying to catch up. Good job.

thank you so much for reading my stuff! i really appreciate it
Very cool, very metaphysical. Fast reading pace while urging us to slow down: Nice.
I'm curious about your choice of the words "Carve" and "Take." They seem harsh in
their positions on the meditative side of the poem. Well done... Scott

You're most welcome. And "sharp" describes my feeling better than "harsh." :)
