River of Blood

River of Blood

A Poem by ksmchick1999
"

Apparently, one of my best poems, written after I was bullied.

"

A moment of tears that rush down the eyes

As slow as a mellow rainfall falls from the sky

But the things we say to stop the rain

Do nothing but make it pour even more.

Misled, mistaken, misunderstood

The tears she shed had no justice like they should

Instead of tears of joy like they seem

Hidden by the shield she bare

Dark and red as blood is there

Like the heat of the sun on a dessert summer day

And water appears in a mirage kind of way

And your hope rises as you walk there

And it only takes a moment to know you’re going no where.

Or you’re walking in the woods and see a river

And you’re thirsty for the drink it could give

Then your body starts to burn after a little sip

And the blue, pure water turns into liquid death

Because you drank from the river of blood

Absolutely beautiful! I love it!

Change dessert to desert and change bare to bares and no where to nowhere. I analyzed this well and it's a perfectly good poem.
