Lucid Tranquility

Lucid Tranquility

A Poem by ksscampos

Lucid Tranquility

I get caught in this lucid dream

Look up to the sky, as it stares back at me

In a bizarre scene I find tranquility

My mind’s racing, with nowhere to be

I pause

Today never seems to quench

The thirst for better days

Ones that greed will always drench

Gladiators to daily battles

Armed and dangerous

But David will fall short of Goliath

The rush for more

Digress to insufficient

Enough in unreachable

Happiness is quantifiable

Amounts amount to mounts of nothing

Values and morals with price tags

Brands brand the face of the consumer

Counting days to the weekend

Falling closer to my weak end.

I pause

A bizarre scene

Suddenly serene

I humbly praise life’s tranquility
