rock bottom, hello again

rock bottom, hello again

A Poem by Katie Richards
"

Rock bottom...if you've been there you understand.

"

The blade in this skin never grows dull...

Piercing clear to the conscience; a filthy, defiling process...

Deeply entrenched and far-rooted; removal is purely intangible in my imperfection...

Cutting clear to my bone so brittle; gnawing piece by piece until weakness excels worth...

My thinking becomes clouded due to frailty, and due to frailty the cycle recycles...

the downward spiral gains stamina...

     rock bottom, hello again.

I wonder if this is how it feels when the alcoholic is spiraling down...or that person who is fed up with life...

probably both...

great work...

I can tell you right now that my current situation helps me to identify with this piece a thousand times over. I think I've carved my name on the rock floor plenty of times. But, makes me stronger every time I climb out of it. Another good piece.
