Somebody's Hero

a poem about the bond between mother and child.

She always gets up when she falls.

She'll face each challenge, big or small.

She'll always hold her head up high.

Even when it's tough, she gives it a try.

 

She's somebody's hero

 

She'll never be a movie star.

Write a number one song,

or drive a fancy car.

 

But she's still somebody's hero

 

She'll never write a bestselling book.

Live in a big old house,

or be a famous cook.

 

She's somebody's hero

 

She'll never be a beauty queen.

Score the winning shot,

or be in the fashion scene.

 

But she's still somebody's hero

 

She'll always read a bedtime story each and every night.

She'll always give the best hugs,

and know just how to make everything alright.

 

She knows just what to say to ease a worried mind.

She'll always be there cheering you on.

Anthing thats lost, she is sure to find.

 

Her life can be as chaotic as the winds whirl.

But she'll always be a hero...

In the eyes of a little girl.

What a tender poem! You point out what often goes unlooked, the precious things mothers do for love of their children. Mother's have a way of feeling this hero badge upon their hearts. This is genuine and so beautiful!
