glassy eyed

glassy eyed

A Poem by Nina Love

Were you here when I was bleeding?

Were you here when I was bleeding?

Glassy eyed and staring, I didn't see you. (Where have you gone?)

Maybe I was dying,

Or maybe I'm already dead. (Leave me dying.)

Make me dance,

Make me speak,

I am just a puppet.

Make me run,

Make me scream,

I am just your goddamn doll. (Glassy eyed and waiting.)

Try to call but no one's listening,

I am just another decoration. (Hanging by the wall.)

I try to speak but no one hears me,

Can you feel the separation?

I try to run, but I just fall,

I am bound by your side with a chain and ball.

I forgot I can't see, (feeling trapped, I can't get free.)

I can't run.  I can't scream.

I know it's useless.

Goddesses can.  You hear me? (Can you hear your children crying?)

I am broken. (You finally broke me.)

I am gone now,

Lying here, staring at the ceiling. (Glassy eyed and waiting.)

Great poem! I like that mindless doll fraze and the repetition at the end is great too.
