Muse

Muse

A Poem by LapseOfMind
"

A poem dedicated to my muse. Where have you gone my friend?

"
I barely remember
the pain that came before
your fake-smiled whispers
your touch of skin and bone

We woke in frozen embers
time stood and left alone
I begged for punctured blisters
all you gave was stone

your teeth were yellowed slowly
my mind has long left home
dusted eyes reflected
and I've been left to roam

As I sit and try and write my short stories, my muse and I struggle to find common ground. I dedicate this poem to her.

It's as if I'm truly experiencing the pain and deep emotions behind your words. You bring the read right into the moment, and your words speak to the heart. You're truly gifted at capturing the moment and expressing it both creatively and eloquently.

Oh soooooo true, dear friend. My muse has been on an extended round the world trip. I only hope she returns full of stories and in a generous spirit willing to share. God only knows when that vamp will return!

A complete story in the short poetry. Take talent to create place, sad journey and bad ending. You did. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

You are welcome.
Thanks. If I remember correctly, I was frustrated with writing and I felt abandoned by my muse. As if she left me for another.

Good metaphives. Well, after all! they're better than metaphors.

it is odd how many fine poems are composed bemoaning the loss of a muse...I think yours has tricked you my friend

Yeah, she does that. Though, at times, I believe that trickery to be just another tactic to inspire

The muse that fickle lover. Well done. A number of strong images and a nice rhyme scheme
