Dear Misery

Dear Misery

A Poem by Shay Renee

Interpretation should be easy on this poem.

Dear Misery,

I’m leaving you behind because I’ve found someone new

Who does for me what you could never do

No more tears about the events that happened in my past

I’m not leaving this relationship, this new thing is gonna last

You ask why and how could I give you up and for whom could it be

Well the answer is plain happiness, you see

The smile in my eyes and in my face

The forgotten memories of what you wouldn’t let me erase

No more weeping nights but now I’m experiencing sunny days

No more cold draft winds, I’m experiencing bright rays

Our relationship is over and now I’m walking free

Saying hello to all happiness and goodbye to misery

No more regretting mistakes I’m moving on with time

No more cuddling in your bosom I’m drawing the line

Here now, I am a new being recreated

I am no longer by you being intimidated

I thrived by you, my eyes blind folded in dark

But now my new lover uncovered my eyes and made her mark

No more resentment

Bitterness, hatred of mind

I am refilled with peace tranquility so divine

I was pushed out the womb straight into your arms

You made me believe you were protecting me from harm

But all along it was you holding me in captivity

But now happiness is setting me free

So dear misery goodbye my lover, my friend

No longer no more, our relationship is at its end

Sincerely, Free

Great job I love the way it cantent and the poem is good, one thing that would make it better is making the lines a little better length. It just kind of throws you off when you read it and one line is long and the next really short. Great job.

tis light into darkness ye bring with this fine poem , be careful now , some of us like to hide in those dark corners but ye should be proud of the job ye have done here .

Aw, a wonderful use of rhyme to make something serious into something... much easier and happier.
But, then again, by the quality of this I guess anything I can say you would already know.
Anyway, this is joy to read.
