Thirteen Lucky Black Cats

Thirteen Lucky Black Cats

A Poem by Laura E. Aranda
"

Written on a whim for Fran Marie's crazy 13 contest....

"

One is the loneliest

With her heart on her sleeve

Two heads are better than one

So she sighed and decided to leave

Three on a match

Viewed the cruel world all around

As the four winds circled

No cove of peace could be found

High Five just whistled at the sight

No one payed him any attention

They all knew High Five was high as a kite

About to be six feet under

Seven Wonders about the ways of life

What is the magic behind the eight ball

No worries, no fears, no strife

Just chillin' on cloud nine

Ten pins down bowling lane

She waited to play the eleventh hour

Ignoring the cry of her alcohol pain

Her heart telling her it was time for the twelve step program

Oh, Yes! How could we resist

Lucky Thirteen, Lucky Thirteen,

who would have been surely missed

Being born in the Fourteenth Century and all...

The Fifteenth Ammendment

What is that again?

I don't care, It is my Sweet Sixteen

Does it have something to do with killing men?

As long as I am not Seventeen Forever

'Cuz when I hit Eighteen! I can vote but then

Here comes that Nineteenth Nervous Breakdown

Who is my next of kin?

Written in the year twenty8twelve
