Butterflies

Butterflies

A Poem by Lauren Galina
"

A touching feeling we can all somewhat connect to!

"

Butterflies

It's blooming again,

It's got your eyes open,

And you can see the risk in

Front of you.

Yet you take the hand

And you kiss the lips

And you wrap yourself

Around infatuation.

Because this is true,

This is real,

And the past was just a mistake

That taught you a lesson.

But did you listen?

Did you count the stars

To see if they were even?

Did you memorize the moments

So they'd be remembered?

Or did you let it all slip behind you,

Because you predicted forever?

You didn't count the times you

Felt the warmth and caring,

Because you thought you could

Count infinity?

You could number it in a few months.

But the pain would hold true and strong.

It didn't plan on slipping away.

Why didn't you make sure you were prepared?

Why didn't you double check your heart

To make sure it could take another blow?

You got lost in the butterflies,

And thought they would carry you forever.

But they only let you go...

Always think, just because you went through the pain before. That shouldn't mean the next time shouldn't be better. Life and love grow together. It's a journey of discovery.
