Contemplation of a Lifetime

Contemplation of a Lifetime

A Poem by Larry Dyson
"

remembering the times in hs when i would sit in my CAR/PROJECT in the yard and Plan..

"

My office in the yard in Autumn was My sometimes car/project

where I dreamed my dreams of future life and planned the victories and regretted the losses of that future time

there in the foggy damp aroma of the overhanging tree limbs  and the fallen leaves in retrograde and decay

I..just Me, dreamed

Isn't it amazing how we can suddenly transport ourselves back in time and it is almost as if we are there. Beautiful EM

This is a very fine poem, full of great imagery, the kind of poetry I like, poetry that use images to express feelings in a lyrical/abstract way,but is never vague or blurred, very good work.

Beautifully described...it is as if I can see the imagery right in front of my eyes. Excellent!

Simple and sweet ,sad to . I like autumn it's grims time ,I like it you write and make it easy to see and fill your writing . Dreaming what wound fuel thing it to is like autumn showing the new and old together ......dream well good soul ....

Superb ending, you always did render me extremely moved through your words dear heart...amidst all this, all of the tenderly caught moments and nature's breathing...just you, there, thoughtful...holding dreams and a thought or three :)
Beautiful imagery love xoxo

...and I sit in the truck in the yard, the one with flat tires, brushing aside the cobwebs as I reach for the radio dial powered by a dead battery. I then hum a Willie Nelson tune, reflecting on when I drove the highway on a sunny day, in this very truck.
I can relate!

Thinking things is good for the mind, doing them is something else altogether.. and what better place than in your 'office'

Daydreaming is what teaches us to dream for real.. life is waking and sleeping and not being able to choose when. Your words always bring out the thinker, the viewer on whatever .. thank you, thank you, Laury.
