Fairytales

every once in a while, I write a song...this is one of them.

Long ago, when I was a girl,

I used to dream of a fantasy world,

they all say that I was deceived,

that I'm just a girl, that I'm naive,

I push them aside, I'm gonna go far,

an introverted girl with her daddy's guitar,

I've got it all figured out, they think I don't understand,

Nothing ever goes according to plan,

My friends they like to say:

Fairytales don't exist,

God damn the man who invented true love's kiss,

fairytales are are a childish dream,

you'll be crying blood just to make ends meet,

but why the, again, do I still believe,

I still love and I still dream,

They tell me I'll fail, but to no avail,

because I still believe in fairytales,

Mirror Mirror, on the wall,

sick of being told that I'm gonna fall

shake my head, they don't even give me a glance,

But what do they know, I think I'll take another chance,

I'm going to be, a super star,

They say I'm playing texas hold em', but I don't have any cards,

I push them aside, the world is going to be mine,

although theres a little drop if you can't make cloud nine, 

My friends they like to say:
