The Song of My Broken, Bleeding Heart

The Song of My Broken, Bleeding Heart

A Poem by Althelia Marie Caine
"

Another poem for Cassidy

"
Lost somewhere alone with my sad soul,
The only things running through my head
Is what I did to deserve such shattering heartbreak?
Such broken dreams?

How can you do this to me?
Betray me like you didn't give a s**t?
How can you stand to look at her?
When you know she stole you away?

[How can you f*****g live with yourself?
How can you go about breaking our fragile hearts
Left and Right?
How can you f*****g live with yourself?]

Do you just no care that these games you play,
Hurt those who love you?
How can you play me this way?
As if my broken heart is your personal game board?

Why do you play me like you do?
Does it make you happy when you break me down?
I deserve to know why you'd do behind my back,
Behind the back of the one woman who will love you forever.

[How can you f*****g live with yourself?
How can you just lay with me the go to her?
How can you say you love me when you are obviously sleeping with her?
How can you f*****g live with yourself?]

I'll just tell you something right now,
I'll tell you what I've been wanting to say.

My heart, this fragile heart,
It's not any man's play toy,
It's no man's game board.

My heart, this now broken heart,
It's mine to give to whom I wish,
Mine to give to the man I love.

The man that I gave it to,
The man that I love above all else,
He took my heart,
You, you took the heart I gave you,
And shattered it beyond any repair.

[How can you f*****g live with yourself?
How can you just dismiss the woman
That you claimed so hard to love?
And go to another w***e's arms?
How can you ignore the pain you cause me?
How can you f*****g live with yourself?]

Go to her arms then, Cassidy, my love.
Run to that w***e's arms.
Then watch as she crushes your heart.
You'll come running back to me.
But will I still be there,
Waiting all alone on the side lines,
Waiting for the man I'm in love with to see me?
Or will I be gone?
Dead to you forever?

i like how you personalized more towards the end, that gave me chance to really feel the fury. The feeling of being slighted and used came through well when you compared the heart to a game board. Way to just let the words just run, made for a successful poem. I feel you!
