Don't Toy With My Heart

Don't Toy With My Heart

A Poem by Leah Elisabeth

Don't toy with my heart

It wasn't so long ago

That it was left broken and bleeding

Crushed by some callous blow

Don't toy with my heart

Its only just been healed

The scars of old wounds still show

I want to keep them sealed

Don't toy with my heart

Don't make me love you too soon

Let me hold it for a while

Before I give it to you

Maybe you aren't really toying

You don't know how fragile I am

Maybe I don't want to give my heart

Because I'm afraid to trust again

So if you really do love me

Speak up and tell me so

So I am not left guessing

And my love for you can show

Any suggestions for the last line. I am not so impressed with it, but I am not sure what I should do with it.

"Let me hold it for a while
Before I give it to you"

I really like those lines, and the structure of the poem. :]
As for the last line... maybe instead of "show" you could use glow.. or grow?
Truthfully, I don't mind it terribly the way it is.
