Time

Time

A Poem by Leah Elisabeth

Is it really time?
Can I give you my heart?
Have you finally made up your mind?
Will our love story start?

Yesterday, I gave up
Today, you swept me away
I am still waiting for tomorrow.
And the promise of forever

I think it might be time
To take that secret key
And put it in your hand,
Let you take all of me.

I’ve been waiting
I thought the time would never come
And that the garden of my heart
Would lie fallow in the Sun

And now I am glad
That I waited for you
And the gift I am giving you
Is still brand new.

You are beautiful
Our love will be beautiful too
You are the man I longed for
I still can’t believe its true.

What an amazingly tender, lifting write that makes the spirit smile. Love that is shared sacred between two people is so deeply beautiful, like your words here. Amazing!

This poem makes me smile, I particularly like the lines: "And that the garden of my heart
Would lie fallow in the Sun" that's just great metaphor. I also enjoy the 2-4 rhyming scheme, that's always been one of my favorite. Ah to young and in love, oh wait I am, and this poem reminds me of how its so wonderful.

Oh this is so incredible sweet.
The innocence and youthful longing just sings as I read each word.
..............
I think it might be time
To take that secret key
And put it in your hand,
Let you take all of me.
..............
My -only- suggestion is possibly changing the title.
Normally I wouldn't even do that, but I just feel that the one you have now does no justice to the poem it claims.
Either way though, whoever reads this can only be left smiling.
Well done. ^-^

This is very nice, and well written! A fine tribute to that special someone, in your life. I am pleased for you, Leah! Also, you have kept a true poetic structure (four lines per verse), some eloquent wording, and a good rhyme scheme. This is also a romantic poem, without any unnecessary references to carnal themes (or words).

Thankyou, for sharing these pleasant thoughts and feelings with us!

Continuing to share our Christian faith!
