Revenge

Revenge

A Poem by Lee Foreman
"

You may want to think twice before cheating...

"

Revenge is karma, revenge is deadly;

I have to have it, I need it badly.

This man is sneaky, he is a snake.

All of these lies, how much more can I take?

He lies and smiles in my face,

I know another woman has taken my place.

Revenge is karma, revenge is deadly;

I have to have it, I need it badly.

I see this woman so pretty and tall;

I see this woman, she has it all.

She looks in my face with a familiar look;

I look her in her eyes; I can read her like a book.

Revenge is karma, revenge is deadly;

I have to have it, I need it badly.

She looks at me and asks, “Have I seen you before?”

I say no; is there anything more?

One night I woke up late;

Where’s my husband, he’s on a date.

Revenge is karma, revenge is deadly;

I have to have it, I need it badly.

I look out the window and what do I see?

My man sexing up a woman that should be me.

I go back to bed and think out loud:

Revenge is karma, revenge is deadly;

I have to have it, I need it badly.

The next morning he comes back in;

I say to myself: I’m about to commit a sin.

He tells me he’s working late;

Truth is, he has a date.

Revenge is karma, revenge is deadly;

I have to have it, I need it badly.

I drive to her house, I creep inside;

I’m in the dark, I am blind.

A 9 mm pistol in my hand,

I think about him cheating and I’m getting mad.

Revenge is karma, revenge is deadly;

I have to have it, I need it badly.

My insides are burning; I’m like a toaster,

I hear moaning, I’m getting closer.

I creep upstairs to the room,

I pull the trigger twice, they hear a boom.

They’re gushing with blood, I cry my tears;

My heart is tingling, I have no fear.

Revenge is karma, revenge is deadly;

I had to have it;

I got it finally.

A powerful poem. Revenge can lead us to dark places and thoughts. I like the flow of the story. There is some wisdom in the words. Don't piss off a good woman. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

The storyline reminds me of that old song, "Frankie and Johnnie." I've written one or two murder poems myself, and I enjoyed writing them! In poems we can be whoever or whatever we want to be! It's great to have such freedom! I enjoyed the read. ~ Robert.

Thank you Robert. That is the beauty of being a writer...:-)
I don't know what to write here as a review.....As a reviewer of a poem, I would say that you have done a great work in terms of language and style. But the message of the poem should not be in theis way as revenge also should be left with the God, who is the Lord of angels and humans.

If it was me I would have done a 'bobbit' on him instead and let him live on without them ! He didn't suffer enough your way !

Great poem, good rhyme and an enjoyable story ! Despite the tragedy within !
