Gone too soon from my life.

Ode to King Henry....

The end came 

suddenly

One second 

and it was here.

A beautiful life 

played out

before my

eyes..

Gone in

a second.

Just like that

walked away

From what I had 

estimated to be

a beautiful life.

Gorgeous 

surroundings,

beautiful

smells.

Big enticing beds

with huge pillows

Fluffy couches 

to scratch.

Overall a

luxurious 

lifestyle of windows

to look out through.

Yet, one day

King Henry

just walked away

from his throne.

Into the unknown

Or back to the

familiar...I will never 

know.

Just gone,

vanished.

Zero thanks for 

the lovely time.

No last meow

No warning

No look,

Just gone.

He walked away

as if all those nights

of hearing him yell

hello did not mean 

a thing.

All those times 

we spent together

looking through the window

working on the garden.

All those times

of being together

devalued in one

move.

As one more rejection 

came my way.

Gone from my life

but never from my heart.

King Henry,

my cat of 7 years,

my heart is yours

forever.

I told you secrets

I never told anyone else.

You knew details

and you heard me 

and looked at me 

and understood 

my heart.

I will always miss

you and you will

always be my 

King Henry.

I read this to my counselor the other day and she said so many people could sympahtize and your
review helped me to realize it as well. I just keep imagining that he is happy with another family somewhere. So sorry about your dog. Pets are such a part of our lives and they become the reason we come home. They give love and ask for very little. King Henry was special...he loved giving massages when he was in the mood.

aww - I can imagine him doing that - I've seen some clips of animals do the funniest things
I pray he is happy - my friends dog wondered off with a lady and wasnt seen for a year and a half before it just walked in the front door one day - weird ...
